TRA Gallery Presents the 2^nd Annual ‘Represent Brooklyn’ Art Exhibition

Brooklyn, NY. – The Rising Arts Gallery is pleased to announce the second annual "Represent Brooklyn" exhibition, scheduled for April 11^th to May 9^th 2009.  The exhibition features selected painting, photography, sculpture, and mixed media art by artists who work and live in and whose artwork is inspired by Brooklyn.

The exhibition opening reception will be held on Saturday April 11^th, 2009 4- 8pm.

The exhibition closing reception will be held on Saturday May 9^th, 2009 4- 8pm.

“Represent Brooklyn” is an annual fine arts exhibition designed to bring together artists, art collectors, art organizations, and community members that live and work in Brooklyn.  The paintings, sculptures, photographs, prints, and mixed media artwork included in the show provide a glimpse of the diverse range of creative style and visual presentation found in Brooklyn.

The exhibition not only brings together important examples of work by a different group of Brooklyn artists but it provides a unique opportunity for artists and local art associations to network and communicate with one another.  Each participating artist will either live or work in Brooklyn or be an active member of one or more Brooklyn art organizations. 

A variety of different representatives from each Brooklyn art association will be encouraged to attend the exhibition to promote their organizations.  Local artists are encouraged to attend to familiarize themselves with the active local organizations.  Community members are encouraged to attend to learn more about their local artists, the existing art organizations, and the benefits that they offer to the Brooklyn community.

Gallery Information

The Rising Arts (TRA) Gallery is a small, home-base gallery located at 35 Claver Pl. in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn.  TRA Gallery is a unique art space designed to promote and exhibit visual artwork. 

The Rising Arts Gallery focuses on contemporary art created by emerging and mid-career artists working in a variety of media, from paintings and photography to sculpture and print. Solo and group exhibitions showcase abstract as well as figurative work from a diverse body of artists from the U.S. and abroad.
